Stats on crashes that cause death and serious injury are the ultimate indicator of road safety performance on road networks. We are proud to announce the updated iRAP Crash Risk Mapping Manual is now available.

This essential resource reflects the latest knowledge and experience in mapping serious road crashes using a globally standard approach. Crash risk maps are relatively simple to prepare yet tell critically important stories. Countries including Spain, Great Britain, Tunisia and Georgia are using crash risk maps to better understand crash risks and track performance.

By using the updated manual, road authorities can benefit from:

  • Standardized methods: Ensure consistency and comparability of crash data across regions.
  • Improved understanding: Gain deeper insights into crash risks on their road networks.
  • Data-driven decisions: Allocate resources effectively for targeted road safety improvements.

This update empowers countries to make better use of crash data, ultimately saving lives by creating safer roads.
