Works are on the way to enhance and upgrade the safety of Bahrain’s road network in line with international iRAP standards.

The project, now out for tender, includes the Star Rating and Risk Mapping assessment of 400km of major roads, Star Rating of five project designs and 10 schools in the country.

The Ministry of Works Bahrain invites iRAP Accredited Suppliers and engineering consultancy firms registered with CRPEP Bahrain under Grades A, B or C, to apply for the 12 month tender by 7 September with a BD100 bond and BD100 tender fees.

The project utilises the iRAP Methodology and will provide the Ministry with an evidence-based approach to road risk assessment to inform infrastructure investment which maximises 3-star or better safety for road users.
