We hope you are staying healthy and safe during this difficult time with COVID19. Keeping the mind busy at the moment is important, especially if you are self isolated/social distancing at home.

The good news is that we are committed to sharing knowledge through our online courses which you can participate in from wherever you are in the world.

With support from the Bloomberg Philanthropies under the BIGRS 2020-2025, the World Bank’s GRSF and iRAP have partnered to deliver periodic learning events on the iRAP methodology. Every webinar series will put in the spotlight a country with significant road safety lessons to be shared.

The focus of this webinar will be on the road safety experience and lessons learned in India, presenting how the local program– IndiaRAP was created, and the safety assessments that were conducted across the country.

The BIGRS IndiaRAP webinar series will help building capacity of road authorities around the world interested in the iRAP methodology to eliminate high-risk roads, unlock the economic benefits of 3-star or better roads through results-based financing, and meet global SDG and UN Target obligations.

The first session will be an introductory webinar, with the later sessions to focus specifically on the methodology and work done in India and regions.

FOUR PART SERIES:

1. Day 1 (2 June) – Introduction to BIGRS and iRAP
2. Day 2 (4 June) – Star Ratings and Safer Road Investment Plans
3. Day 3 (9 June) – Introduction to ViDA
4. Day 4 (11 June) – How road authorities can conduct iRAP safety assessments.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This series of webinars is meant for engineers of road authorities; and road safety engineers, consultants and professionals involved in road design, operation, and maintenance.

This online training is being supported by the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) and is in continuation of GRSF and World Bank’s active engagement with various State Public Works Departments, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and National Highways Authority of India, including under the BIGRS 2015-2019.

Please note: A certificate of attendance for each webinar session will be issued to attendees. A certificate for course completion will be issued upon conclusion of all assignments.
