For the second consecutive year, an Indonesian toll road has been awarded a 3-Star or Better iRAP Certification, being achieved for the ‘Prof. Dr. Ir. Soedijatmo’ (Soedijatmo) Toll Road.

The result is a manifestation of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk’s commitment to supporting implementation of the Global Plan for Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 in the country.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, has previously been awarded iRAP Certification for Jagorawi and Cipularang Toll Roads.

As the largest toll road provider in Indonesia, Jasa Marga aims to support the achievement of United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 3.6 and ‘halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents’, as part of Indonesia’s National Masterplan for Road Safety.

PT Jasamarga Toll Road Maintenance (PT JMTM), a subsidiary of Jasa Marga, is the toll road maintenance company. It ensures that toll roads meets the minimum service standards and provide road safety for travellers.

In 2021, PT JMTM assessed the safety of the Soedijatmo Toll Road using ‘Hawkeye 2000’, a coding process using the  ‘Hawkeye Processing Toolkit’, and analysis and reporting. Hawkeye 2000 is a “smart car” used for survey purposes to measure road condition and geometry using Automatic Crack Detection sensors, GPS / DGPS, wide-lens digital cameras, a Data Acquisition System, Side Projection Lasers, and a Front Laser Mounting Beam.

PT JMTM successfully performed their first assessment project for Indonesia’s Road Assessment Programme in 2021, and will continue their work to measure and manage road safety on Jasa Marga’s toll roads.

With six iRAP Accredited Practitioners and being the only subsidiary of Indonesia’s State-Owned Enterprises which own Hawkeye 2000, PT JMTM is well equipped to undertake iRAP specification services, especially for toll roads.

The Soedijatmo Toll Road, located in the Greater Jakarta area, serves trips to and from Soekarna Hatta International Airport. With a total length of 14.3km and with at-grade and elevated construction, it connects the Jakarta Intra Urban Toll (JIUT) Road through the Pluit Interchange, the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) Toll Road through the Penjaringan Interchange, and the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) II Toll Road through the Benda Interchange.

iRAP congratulates PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk and PT Jasamarga Toll Road Maintenance for their Star Rating Certification results and commitment to providing 3-star or better safety across their network in Indonesia.
