We are now seeking expression of interest to attend this NEW 4-part webinar series – Star Rating for Designs.

Following the launch of Star Rating For Designs (SR4D) in November 2018, it is now included as a new training topic in our portfolio.

This webinar series will empower participants to use the iRAP Star Rating for Designs (SR4D) web app to assess
designs and help make roads safe before they are built.

The SR4D app plays a critical part in achieving the United Nations Global Road Safety Performance Targets, particularly Target 3: By 2030, all new roads achieve technical standards for all road users that takes into account road safety, or meet a three star rating or better.

Each module runs for between 60 and 70 minutes and covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to iRAP, global context for safe designs and the ‘safe system’.
  • Using the SR4D web app to Star Rate a design.
  • Estimating the change in fatalities and serious injuries because of a design.
  • Developing an Investment Plan to improve the safety of a design.

The series includes practical activities and assignments.

Who should attend?

This course is for people who want to understand and produce Star Ratings and Investment Plans for designs. This series is suitable for road and transport planners, designers, engineers, researchers and safety auditors in road authorities, consulting and contracting firms, research organization, non-government organizations, development banks and UN agencies.

It is desirable that participants have previously completed the Star Rating Essentials course.
