Amidst the backdrop of growing global enthusiasm for cycling as a sustainable and healthy mode of transportation, the 2023 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum held last month in Bruges, Belgium, brought together experts and stakeholders to delve into crucial aspects of cycling infrastructure safety. A key highlight of the forum was the introduction of CycleRAP, a comprehensive framework developed by the to systematically assess and improve the safety of cycling infrastructure.

#ICYMI: At the event, iRAP, in partnership with MAPFRE Foundation, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and PTV Group, launched the Safer Cycling around the World report. A report on the first major pilot of the CycleRAP model with cities in Europe, South America and North America participating.

The introduction of CycleRAP at the 2023 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum marks a pivotal moment in the global effort to enhance cycling infrastructure safety. This comprehensive framework provides cities and transportation authorities with a valuable tool to systematically assess and improve cycling infrastructure, paving the way for safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable cycling experiences for all.
