We are excited to announce that Ms Minh Vo is joining the iRAP team as Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) Coordinator.

Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) is an evidence-based program for measuring, managing and communicating the risk children are exposed to on a journey to school. It supports quick interventions that save lives and prevent serious injuries from day one.

As SR4S Coordinator, Minh will be managing the day-to-day operation of the global program. Minh replaces Rafaela Machado who coordinated SR4S for five years, working with Lead Partners that have now Star Rated thousands of locations and implemented improvements at hundreds of schools. Rafaela is taking on an exciting new role as Programmes Manager with the FIA Foundation.

Minh said “I am passionate about safety for children and planning and design that supports healthy communities.”

“There is a proverb: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together’. I want to go far and I’m ready for the journey with SR4S partners to make the world’s roads safe for everyone,” said Minh.

Prior to joining iRAP, Minh worked with Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation and was responsible for monitoring and evaluation activities in multiple road safety programs for children and adolescents, and participated in SR4S assessments for more than 150 schools in Vietnam and Thailand. Minh is a qualified SR4S Master Trainer and has delivered training to a range of partners, such as the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.

In addition to her work with AIP Foundation, Minh was an official representative of Vietnam at the 2nd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety and the 3r Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, and has been a youth leadership board member with the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.

Minh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies (Regional and Urban Planning) and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Urban Planning as a recipient of an Australia Awards Scholarship. Minh speaks English, Vietnamese and Japanese.
