We are delighted to announce that iRAP CEO Rob McInerney has been appointed as a member of the Aleatica Foundation Consultative Council for Road Safety.
Rob’s experience and expertise will help guide the Foundation’s efforts for greatest road safety impact in priority countries around the world that improves people’s lives through safer, more inclusive and more sustainable transport systems and infrastructure.
The Aleatica Foundation for Road Safety has been constituted as a non-profit, civil association in Mexico as an initiative of Aleatica, the global transport infrastructure operator managing 20 concessions in seven countries, as well as nine urban highways and seven interstate corridors, which handle over 353 trillion vehicles annually. The company will invest 94.5 million euros in safety over the next four years.

On joining the Council Mr McInerney said, “Aleatica has an impressive focus on the Sustainable Development Goals and making a positive contribution to the safety of their staff, their customers and their communities. The establishment of the Aleatica Foundation extends that impact and will unlock the unique life-saving benefits a non-profit entity can make to road safety through evidence-based action.
“iRAP and the Foundation share a common goal to improve people’s lives by alleviating the social and economic effects of road crashes. I’m pleased to join the Council and support their efforts to reduce road trauma in Mexico and other priority countries worldwide,” Mr McInerney said.
iRAP and the Aleatica Foundation signed an MOU on 29 November to work together to develop projects and programmes to make roads safer through the application of globally recognised iRAP methodologies including the Star Ratings, Investment Plans, Star Ratings for Schools and other free RAP Tools.
