September 2018: Led by the Mobilité Club Maroc (MCM), a workshop was held from 5-7 September in the Casablanca region of Morocco and a part of a project supported by the FIA Road Safety Grant Programme which is provided by FIA Foundation funding. The aim of the project is to help improve safety on the road network around schools.
iRAP and Amend worked together to deliver a similar training program that has previously been successfully deployed in countries such as Zambia and Jamaica with the Child Health Initiative. James Bradford, iRAP’s Global Product Director, provided the Star Rating for Schools methodology training to help participants assess the safety of the surrounding road network, and present a 1-5 star rating around school communities. Representatives from CNPAC (Comité National de Prévention des Accidents de la Circulation) and Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water were also in attendance.
This project will be carried with more local schools in Casablanca, read the full article here
