The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Alliance of NGOs for road safety is collaborating with iRAP to deliver a webinar building capacity and proficiency of participants involved in road infrastructure development, maintenance and management. 

The objective of the webinar is:

  • to impart knowledge that can support countries in working towards the Sustainable Development Goals(SDG) and the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030;
  • share experiences from the region demonstrating the potential to achieve Target 3 and Target 4 of the UN Global Road Safety Performance Targets;
  • and introduce tools and resources that can support Countries work towards enhancing road infrastructure safety. 

The webinar aims to highlight the influence of infrastructure in achieving the Global plan of the Decade of Action for Road Safety and aims to arm participants with the tools and expertise to implement the Africa Road Safety Charter.

  • Road infrastructure safety as a key component of the Safe System;
  • Latest updates on speed management and its impact on road safety;
  • Case studies on achieving Target 3 and 4 of the Global Road Safety Targets;
  • Shaping road safety projects for financing;
  • Procuring an iRAP Assessment.

Participants will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the World Bank, European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) drawn from diverse global experiences; as well as gain invaluable insights from the experiences of regional stakeholders.
