All of the iRAP Board, team and partners worldwide express our deep gratitude for Gary Liddle AO and the life he led, the person he was and the positive impact he made. Our sympathy to Merri and the family and all the many friends in Australia and worldwide who shared a love for Gary. He will be forever in our hearts.

Only quality words describe Gary.  Kind, generous, humble, wise, clever, selfless, professional, caring, fun-loving, adventurous and one-of-a-kind.  He was also committed to public service, committed to family and friends, committed to doing good and committed to road safety.

iRAP was privileged to have Gary as a volunteer Trustee of the charity for 9 years and as Chair of the iRAP Board from 2017-2022.  His leadership and wisdom helped grow the charity’s impact to the point where today more than 400,000 deaths and injuries have been saved by partners worldwide, 172 countries are supported and more than US$95 billion of infrastructure investment has been made safer.

We remember him fondly and remember his positive words as he dealt with MND and continued to strive to “find the joy in every day”.  Every day will be harder without you Gary and rest in peace knowing we will continue your legacy and passion for road safety and saving lives.

If you would like to leave some words or a tribute for Gary, please either email us at comms@irap.org or leave a comment on our social media tribute post – we will then share this with Gary’s family.
