A world-first compilation of Safer Roads Resources including global road infrastructure project directories, road safety data platforms, innovation initiatives, capacity building and training resources, and road safety policy and strategy knowledge has been launched on the Road Safety Toolkit helping to connect road safety stakeholders with free resources to help eliminate high-risk roads.

Working together and sharing resources will be essential to achieving of the global target of a 50% reduction in road traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030.

The resources are sources of knowledge that can support road safety stakeholders and enhance coordination of efforts to make roads and streets safer.

The first known compilation of its type, the webpage is an initiative of iRAP’s Global Policy Advisory Committee including representatives from World Bank, Asian Development Bank, World Resources Institute, UNECA, UNECE, International Transport Forum, PIARC, European Investment Bank, International Road Federation, FIA Foundation, iRAP and the African Development Bank. The Committee advises the iRAP Board on strategic issues to support partner achievement of UN Targets 3 and 4 by 2030.

The addition further enhances the Road Safety Toolkit as an important online resource of free information on the causes and prevention of road crashes that result in death and injury, providing practical, up-to date knowledge of how road treatments can be implemented to improve road safety.

Help us build the resource list for the benefit of all. Contributions are welcome by email to judy.williams@irap.org.
