Partnership with Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety brings new Star Rating Essentials online course in Russian

As part of a project in Kazakhstan, iRAP and Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety are partnering to build capacity of 25 professionals in the country, specifically to perform road safety assessments according to iRAP specifications. The East-West Roads Development Project in the Republic of Kazakhstan includes road survey and coding of 6,000 km. Other organisations part of the project include Sweroad (Sweden) and Afry (Czech Republic).

The Kazakh Scientific Institute for Road Safety is also advocating to include mandatory reference of iRAP specifications in the new road safety legislation for existing and new roads.

The Institute translated iRAP Star Rating Essentials online course into Russian and their team is currently taking the course. After completing the course these professionals will apply for accreditation and then perform the project assessments.

Soon, the Star Rating Essential course in Russian will be available to the public. The course has 5 modules including;

  • Introduction to iRAP
  • Road Survey
  • Road Attribute Coding
  • ViDA creator
  • Pre reading materials, videos and assignments.
