Designing safer roads for all users and creating a forgiving and self-explaining environment is a priority for the Philippines and the World Bank.

This course, hosted by UP-NCTS and delivered by World Bank, iRAP and NCTS experts, will build knowledge about international methods of safety intervention identification, design and implementation, and will help organisations maximise the impact of their iRAP assessments.

This course is specifically designed for staff from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Transport (DOTr), Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Participants will get hands-on experience in accessing and using iRAP assessment data for their roads using the iRAP online software, ViDA.

PROGRAMME SUMMARY:

  • DAY 1 – Internationally-accepted methods for road safety intervention identication, design, alternatives analysis, and impact monitoring.
  • DAY 2 – Refresher on iRAP Star Ratings and Safer Road Investment Plans and accessing iRAP data
    for Philippines roads.
  • DAY 3 – Problem solving workshop: real-world safety challenges and potential solutions for
    Philippines highways.

Certificates will be awarded upon completion.
