Last week, on 10-11 March, iRAP Global Projects Director Julio Urzua joined ANDTech, the largest meeting in Brazil dedicated to technology and innovation applied to traffic and mobility, and shared insights on how technology is helping to drive safer road infrastructure investment and school journeys.

Under the leadership of Associação Nacional dos Detrans (AND), the event brought together experts from different sectors to discuss how technology can contribute to making traffic and mobility systems safer, more efficient and inclusive, redefining the way governments plan and implement services.

Panels presented experiences that utilize predictive analytics, computer vision, and real-time data processing to identify risks, guide investments in road infrastructure, and improve public policies for traffic safety.

Julio shared how technological tools can help drive infrastructure investments for safe school areas in Brazil, and especially how iRAP’s Star Rating for Schools programme can become a powerful management tool to guide decisions, prioritize interventions, and amplify the impact of public road safety policies.

Thanks to AndTech and all involved partners for the opportunity to share ideas and learn from professionals who are committed to building safer and more sustainable cities, especially AND, FIA Foundation, WRI Brazil and Associação Automobilística do Brasil (AAB).
