Enabling software

Lane Patrol

Lane Patrol is a software tool developed by FACTUAL that uses CycleRAP to provide data-driven insights into potential hazards and improvement of the cycling infrastructure to help reduce crashes and injuries.

Lane Patrol allows city planners and mobility experts to understand their networks and prioritise improvements smartly.

Lane Patrol has an automated process to:

  • Capture georeferenced images of the cycling infrastructure
  • Create a digital twin of the cycling network
  • Define the level of risk to categorize the different areas of the infrastructure, and
  • Simulate future scenarios that allow decision-makers to plan and improve the cycling network.

The video below demonstrates Lane Patrol’s cycle safety survey in Skopje, North Macedonia.
