The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will host the 2024 Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum in Manila on 14-17 May, and iRAP’s Global Programme Director Greg Smith and IndiaRAP Technical Manager Jigesh Bhavsar will be on hand to share and support partner activity in the region.
As the flagship transport sector event, this year’s Forum with the theme “Clean Transport For All”, will focus on ADB as the climate bank and how the transport sector can decarbonize as well as ensuring climate resilience of transport infrastructure.
The Forum will provide an opportunity for ADB staff and its developing member countries and partners to engage in open dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, and share international best practices.
ADB’s transport sector support and assistance to global public goods, notably climate change and the SDGs, will be in the spotlight, with transport firmly placed as an enabler of development. Other key corporate agendas on gender, social development and digitalization will be covered alongside sector specific topics such as rail, urban transport, smart mobility and road system operations.
