29 October 2019: As part of the GRSP 2019 Asia Pacific Road Safety Seminar, the 2nd workshop on iRAP Development in Asian Countries was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The workshop theme ‘Safer Roads for Safer Motorcyclists’ brought together MyRAP, ChinaRAP, ThaiRAP and IndiaRAP teams, all collaborating to save lives in the region.

Riders and passengers on motorised two and three wheelers are the single largest group of people killed in road crashes in South East Asia. This workshop discussed road design and management challenges for powered two and three-wheelers, initiatives that are proving successful and linkages between infrastructure and road user behaviour.

This RAP Partnership in Asia will continue leading the way to improve road safety and save lives in China, India, Thailand and Malaysia, with a particular focus on motorcyclist safety.

As part of the GRSP event, iRAP in association with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), also announced the launch of a Malaysia Road Assessment Programme (MyRAP). Read more about the MyRAP launch here

Congratulations to MIROS and GRSP for putting together these events.

The 2nd workshop on iRAP Development in Asian Countries follows the first one held on 6 August in Bangkok.
