The 2nd Conference of ASEAN Road Safety 2018 (CARS 2018) was held this week in Malaysia.

The conference was held on the 4-6 December 2018 in Selangor, Malaysia, with the objective to bring together key players in road safety within the Southeast Asia region as well as the international level.

IndiaRAP’s Jigesh Bhavsar provided a keynote speech on ‘3-Star or Better Roads to Cut Death and Trauma: Global Case Studies’.

On day two, a Special Forum was held to provide an update on the International Road Assessment Programme in Malaysia including presentations from:

  • Mr Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi (Chief Operating Officer, PLUS Malaysia Berhad)
  • Mr. Alvin Poi Wai Hoong (iRAP Malaysia Project Manager & Head of Highway & Traffic Engineering Unit, MIROS)
  • Ir. Dr. Muhammad Marizwan Abdul Manan (REER Director, MIROS).
