We are thrilled to announce the latest updates to our Safe Schools Tracker, an interactive tool showcasing global progress in making school journeys safer for children through the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S).

📊 Key Metrics at a Glance (as of June 2025):

SR4S partners have assessed 2,337 schools across 80 countries, and in 34 of these countries, schools have already been upgraded and re-assessed using SR4S.

These upgraded locations show a significant and measurable impact:

Average star rating improved from 2.1 to 4.2 stars after upgrades

👧 427,000+ students are benefiting from safer school environments

🚸 Traffic calming measures increased from 18% to 72%

🛑 Adequate lines and signs improved from 26% to 88%

🚶♀️ Marked crossings rose from 39% to 75%

🧱 Formal sidewalks improved from 55% to 74%

🏁 Speed limits of 30 km/h or below increased from 38% to 88%

Every improvement in star rating represents safer crossings, better speed management, and protected pathways that save lives and prevent injuries for children everywhere. Let’s continue advocating for 3-star or better school zones worldwide.
