- 2024 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – honouring the ACM’s ground breaking work in establishing 30km/h speed limits in areas with high pedestrian and cyclist traffic In Moldova. With the support of the FIA Foundation and EASST, the ACM successfully lobbied for and implemented a policy change mandating a 30km/h speed limit in all school zones. To further enhance safety, the ACM has utilized the Star Rating for Schools App to assess and improve three schools in the northern region of Moldova. Read more…
- 2024 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – The Asian Development Bank (ADB), Shaanxi Provincial Transport Department, the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), and the China Road Assessment Program (ChinaRAP) at the Research Institute of Highway (RIOH) are honoured to announce the life-saving Shaanxi Mountain Road Safety Demonstration Project has received a prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
- 2023 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – For the world-first Ten Step Tanzania Project, which has built sustainable institutional capacity, impact, and partnerships to eliminate high-risk roads in Tanzania. Jointly funded by the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (UKAid), through the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) of the World Bank, the 30-month pilot project aimed to curb the more than 16,000 people (estimated) who die on Tanzania’s roads each year.
- 2023 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – For the Road Safety Capacity Building Programme (RSCBP) – An innovative capacity-building programme focused on building road safety capacity and technical knowledge among professionals in LMICs. An initiative of the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), together with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), and the Asia Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO).
- 2022 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – Presented to iRAP and Agilisys for their ground-breaking research and development project, funded by the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF), to mine innovative data sources for road safety in Africa, in support of the African Road Safety Observatory (ARSO).
- 2021 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – Presented to EuroRAP member Road Safety Foundation financially supported by the RAC Foundation and the Department for Transport for the Safer Roads Fund set to prevent around 1,450 fatal and serious injuries over the next 20 years
- 2020 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – Presented to iRAP for work saving lives in more than 100 countries
- 2019 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – Presented to AMZS Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Slovenia for EuroRAP work since 2008
- 2018 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award – Presented to iRAP Star Rating for Schools Programme recognising its potential to reduce risk and save lives of children and pedestrians across the world
