As 2024 draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors, global programme partners, and supporters who make the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) programme another year of success. Together, we’ve created inspiring stories of safer school journeys around the world.
This year, SR4S partners have assessed over 1,900 schools in 76 countries, improving road safety for more than 450,000 students. None of this would be possible without our Founding Sponsor, FedEx, Major Donor FIA Foundation, and Global Programme Partners 3M and Prudence Foundation. We also thank Fondation Botnar, Google.org, and Millennium Challenge Corporation, and our SR4S Lead Partners for their invaluable contributions.
Looking ahead to 2025, SR4S will continue supporting partners in advocating for 5-star school journeys by introducing updates that align with sustainable transport agenda and leveraging youth engagement, AI, and advanced technologies to drive road safety innovation. Here’s what’s coming:
- SR4S 5-Year Anniversary Celebration at the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety;
- Youth Engagement App Major Updates through the AI&Me: Leveraging AI tool for road safety impact and Empowering Youth for Livable Cities projects;
- AI-powered detection of SR4S attributes for nationwide school assessments in Vietnam;
- Introduction of Bicycle Star Rating into SR4S to support active mobility initiatives.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to shape a safer, more inclusive future for children worldwide!
