Road authorities and iRAP partners in Europe will come together from 25 to 26 September in Windsor, UK to share best practice and strategies for achieving ambitious national, European and global road safety targets.

The 2-day event, co-hosted by iRAP and United Kingdom RAP led by the Road Safety Foundation (RSF), will focus on the management, prioritisation, design and finance of safe road infrastructure improvements in both a rural and urban context.

With increasingly challenging fiscal environments, long-term funding strategies and how we can contribute towards sustainable transport and public health priorities will be considered.

The program will include interactive panel sessions, technical sessions and rapid shares on:

  • Safe and sustainable urban mobility
Sharing the latest on the YEA app and iRAP Pedestrian Model, Projects PHOEBE and ELABORATOR, CycleRAP, new ViDA Urban Countermeasures enhancements, and Star Rating for Schools in action
  • National road authorities: Using iRAP to inform, prioritise and develop effective programs
Panel discussion with Matt Staton (National Highways – England), Angela Byrne (Welsh Government) and Slavisa Babic (Croatian Roads). Representatives from Transport Malta and Spain’s Ministry of Infrastructure are also invited.
  • Financing safer roads
Panel discussion with representatives of the multilateral development banks including European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) and road authorities implementing safer roads fund programs
  • Partner news from around the table
  • A view to the future and new developments
iRAP innovation and horizon gazing, new and enhanced tools (Star Rating for Designs and the Route Review Tool), and iRAP in the planning process
  • Going deep: Technical sessions on the Route Review Tool and Crash Risk Mapping
    Led by RSF and Agilysis
