On Tuesday, 3 May 2022 from 1 to 2 pm CET, the EuroRAP Lunchtime seminar #6 will be dedicated to CycleRAP (register HERE). After the presentation of AiRAP, this will be the second time we will feature Research and Innovation Hot Topic and also this time we will be joined by Monica Olyslagers, iRAP’s Global Innovation Manager and Cities Specialist.

CycleRAP is an easy, affordable, and fast method of evaluating road and bicycling infrastructure for safety. It aims to reduce crashes and improve safety specifically for bicyclists and other light mobility users by identifying high risk locations without the need for crash data. CycleRAP will power software tools used for pinpointing and mapping where bicyclist and light mobility crashes are likely to occur. The model uses data about the features of a road, street or path to evaluate the risk of crashes for bicyclists and light mobility users—irrespective of the type of facility (or whether it is on or off road) and for all crash types. It can be used anywhere in the world.

Learn about the problems CycleRAP can help solve, who can use it and many other interesting things about this new method during our next Lunchtime seminar. At the end, Monica Olyslagers will also be available for your questions about CycleRAP.

CycleRAP seminar will be the sixth in the EuroRAP’s lunchtime seminar series which will provide information about the EuroRAP protocols through the ‘RAP basics’ events, insight into iRAP research and innovation through our ‘Hot Topic’ seminars and inspiration for EuroRAP programmes through our ‘National schemes spotlight’ seminars. Along with a national schemes forum, these three webinar types are presented in rotation giving us food for thought every month.

The virtual seminar series is aimed at all EuroRAP partners and other interested parties – from automobile clubs to road authorities, to researchers.
