NTT Ltd. has profiled iRAP Connect, iRAP’s Partner Management System, in their suite of ‘Technology for Good’ case studies alongside global innovations to unlock the mysteries of the universe, deliver rapid COVID response and track illegal poaching in Africa… to name just a few!

iRAP Global Programme and Communications Manager Judy Williams said iRAP Connect is proving to be a gamechanger for the charity.

“The Microsoft Dynamics 365 system built with sponsorship from FedEx and the technical support of NTT, is enabling us to track the activities of thousands of iRAP partners in more than 100 countries. It connects data on our countries, partners, projects, road assessments and upgrades, metrics, training and accreditation activities, knowledge and news.

“It has brought us clarity, coordination and efficiency. The system is giving us a holistic start-to-end view of the connections that are making a difference to eliminate high-risk roads – and most importantly the possibilities for progress and shared success,” Ms Williams said.

NTT , with 171 offices worldwide, has been assisting partners to use technology for business agility and innovation for over 65 years. In 2020 it became the Business Avenger for Sustainable Cities and Communities.

NTT’s Principal Consultant for Australia’s Digital Business John Armstrong said, “iRAP and its partners’ work saving lives across the world by eliminating high-risk roads has really resonated with our team. iRAP Connect is a great example of technology being used for good and we’ve been pleased to help the charity and play a part in saving lives.”

iRAP Connect has also been made possible thanks to the generous support of FIA Foundation, volunteer Nick Davey, an MS Dynamics 365 and Power Platform specialist, and Barhead who supported the initial system build on a pro bono basis.

“I am thrilled to report that the value and wisdoms of iRAP Connect will soon be shared with Road Assessment Programme Leads across the world with the development of a Partner Portal underway,” Ms Williams added.

The development of iRAP Connect is part of the 5-Star Global Connections Initiative sponsored by FedEx. It aligns FedEx’s mission of “connecting people and possibilities” with iRAP’s vision for a world free of high-risk roads.

Achieving UN Road Safety Performance Targets 3 and 4 for 3-star and better roads for all road users worldwide stands to save 450,000+ lives a year with $8 of savings for every $1 invested.

About the International Road Assessment Program (iRAP)

iRAP is a registered charity with the vision for a world free of high-risk roads. The charity is active in over 100 countries and works with governments, development banks, mobility clubs, research organisations and road safety NGOs to provide them with the free tools, systems and training to make their roads safer. iRAP’s Star Rating Methodology has been adopted as the global standard for safer roads and provides a simple and objective measure of the level of safety which is ‘built-in’ to the road for vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians. A 1-star road is the least safe and a 5-star road is the safest. The charity, together with partners worldwide, has influenced the safety of over USD$75 billion dollars of infrastructure investment, has Star Rated over 1 million kms of roads and trained over 22,000 people globally. iRAP is the umbrella programme for regional road assessment programmes including EuroRAP, ChinaRAP, AusRAP, usRAP, KiwiRAP, IndiaRAP, BrazilRAP, South Africa RAP, ThaiRAP and MyRAP and is financially supported by the FIA Foundation, Global Road Safety Facility and FedEx.
