iRAP is delighted to confirm the appointment of Shane O’Connor, Communications Advisor, FedEx to the iRAP Board. He brings enormous passion and experience to the Board in communications and corporate social responsibility.

Shane is responsible for facilitating the company’s global humanitarian disaster response initiatives in concert with multiple international aid agencies.

He previously facilitated the company’s global road safety initiatives working with NGOs reaching more than 90 countries. In that capacity, he represented FedEx on the UN Global Road Safety Collaboration.

He expanded FedEx child pedestrian safety programs with Safe Kids Worldwide to 10 countries, engaging more than 20,000 team members to help reach more than 19 million children around the world with lifesaving child pedestrian safety messaging. He has facilitated road safety initiatives with iRAP, the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, the World Resources Institute, and the University of North Carolina’s Highway Safety Research Centre.

Shane has worked closely with iRAP in FedEx’s sponsorship of the Star Rating for Schools Programme, IndiaRAP and the 5-Star Global Connections Initiative.
