SR4S CASE STUDY: TEHRAN & MASHHAD, IRAN

Improved Pedestrian Facilities at Shohada, Imam Ali and Azmoodeh Primary School

8 schools assessed, 3 upgraded, leading to a safety jump from 1-star to 4- and 5-stars and a safer journey for students

In 2019, Road Safety Pioneers led life-saving safety improvements on school zones in Iran. The initiative was supported by the Global Alliance of Road Safety NGOs and the International Road Assessment Programme’s Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) app. The project followed Alliance Advocates Training in New Delhi in November 2018, allowing the NGO to put their new skills into practice.
