Tuesday 10 December: LONDON – Congratulations to all the winners at the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards 2019. Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards recognise outstanding achievement and innovation world-wide. Each year the most outstanding examples of international road safety initiatives are given public recognition through the scheme.

AMZS Automobile & Motorcycle Association of Slovenia – Road Assessment Procedures

Congratulations to EuroRAP member the Automobile and Motorcycle Association (AMZS). AMZS, has been actively and continuously performing independent iRAP/EuroRAP Road Assessment procedures in Slovenia since 2008.

A strong consortium was established between national stakeholders, such as road authorities, Ministry of infrastructure, Ministry of Interior, Traffic Police and Traffic Technical Institute to enable support of programme implementation in Slovenia.

The award was presented to Mr. Anton Breznik, president of AMZS and Mr. Jure Kostanjsek, secretary general of AMZS and EuroRAP project manager.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) – Innovative road and traffic management systems

Congratulations to our MyRAP partner PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) for winning a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award. Excellent work making its 1,134km Peninsula Malaysia highway safer.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is Malaysia’s largest highway operator, serving over 1.7 million users daily including 3,000 highway workers. Since 2017, PLUS has implemented an integrated and innovative road and traffic management system – which does much more than simply delivering safe infrastructure.

PLUS through its Engineering initiatives has ensured that 100% of its 1,100 kilometres of highways achieved a 3-star iRAP Rating Standard.

Safe Kids Worldwide and FedEx – Safe School Zones

Congratulations to the Star Rating for Schools Lead Partner Safe Kids Worldwide and Founding Sponsor Fedex for winning a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award. The Safe School Zones Project aims to reduce the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities on the road around schools.

The Safe School Zones Grant programme created by Safe Kids Worldwide and FedEx improves child pedestrian safety across the United States and in Brazil, Canada, China, India, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Vietnam by tackling the biggest problem in dangerous school zones – inadequate infrastructure.
