iRAP CEO Rob McInerney has today been recognised with the International Road Federation’s prestigious 2017 Road Safety Award, presented at the 98th World Road Meeting in Delhi.
The Award was presented this morning at the Meeting’s Inaugural Ceremony, presented by the Honourable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation in the Government of India Mr. Nitin Gadkari, in the presence of global Transport Ministers from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Burundi, Canada, Finland, Luxembourg, Russia, and the event’s global gathering.
The award recognises Rob’s outstanding contribution to the cause of global road safety. With RAP projects and programmes now active in over 85 countries worldwide, Rob works closely with key development bank, political and technical leaders both at a global and country-level to drive lifesaving policy impact, financing mechanisms, technological innovation and local capacity to deliver large scale and long term road safety benefits through the provision of safer road infrastructure.
The IRF Award Programme is a one-of-a kind annual competition that recognizes innovative road projects and exemplary people that place the road industry at the forefront of worldwide social and economic development.
