  • 2025 – European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) Road Safety Award – Presented to iRAP for CycleRAP recognising its remarkable achievements in cycling and active mobility promotion.
  • 2025 – PACTS Certificate of Recognition and honorary pin for contributions to road safety – Presented to ThaiRAP Lead, Kasem Choocharukul, Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department of Chulalongkorn University, and recognizing ThaiRAP’s collaborative efforts in road safety.
  • 2024 – Vision Zero for Youth International Leadership Award – The award was presented to the Moldova Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Automobile Club of Moldova for advocacy and action to improve road safety with new low-speed legislation to protect the country’s most vulnerable road users. This recognition underscores Moldova’s outstanding commitment to creating safer streets for its youngest and most vulnerable citizens.   • 2024 – Prix International de la Sécurité Routière Prince Michael – honouring Automobile Club of Moldova’s (ACM) ground breaking work in establishing 30km/h speed limits in areas with high pedestrian and cyclist traffic In Moldova. With the support of the Fondation FIA et EST, l'ACM a obtenu par lobbying et mis en œuvre un changement de politique imposant une limite de vitesse de 30 km/h dans toutes les zones scolaires.   • 2024 – Prix International de la Sécurité Routière Prince Michael – Le Banque asiatique de développement (BAD), Département des transports de la province du Shaanxi, le Programme international d'évaluation routière (iRAP), et le China Road Assessment Program (ChinaRAP) du Research Institute of Highway (RIOH) sont honorés d'annoncer que le projet de démonstration de sécurité routière des montagnes du Shaanxi, qui a sauvé des vies, a reçu un prestigieux Prix Prince Michael International de Sécurité Routière.

  • 2024 – Sustainable Transport Award – Congratulations to Tianjin for its achievement of the 2024 Sustainable Transport Award (STA) recognising the city’s efforts to expand non-motorized transport and improve infrastructure for walking, cycling and public transport connections. The city’s improvement project is the largest supported by the World Bank (by USD$ value and quantity of infrastructure delivered) dedicated to improving streets for NMT and green space.   • 2023 – National Highways Industry Awards UK – Two projects were recognised – A21 Safety Package (Jacobs and National Highways) for “exceptional contribution to road user safety” and A417 ‘Missing Link’ Project (National Highways, Kier and Arup)  for “good road design”. Both projects used the iRAP approach to model and improve the safety case and were supported by the Fondation pour la sécurité routière, United Kingdom RAP programme lead.
  • Prix international de sécurité routière Prince Michael 2023 – Pour le projet révolutionnaire des dix étapes en Tanzanie, qui a mis en place des capacités institutionnelles, un impact et des partenariats durables pour éliminer les routes à haut risque en Tanzanie. Co-financé par le Fonds des Nations Unies pour la sécurité routière (UNRSF) et le Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (UKAid), par l'intermédiaire de la Facilité mondiale pour la sécurité routière (GRSF) de la Banque mondiale, le projet pilote de 30 mois visait à réduire le nombre de plus de 16 000 personnes (estimation) qui meurent chaque année sur les routes tanzaniennes.
  • Prix international de sécurité routière Prince Michael 2023 – Pour le Programme de renforcement des capacités en matière de sécurité routière (RSCBP) – Un programme novateur de renforcement des capacités axé sur le développement des compétences et des connaissances techniques en matière de sécurité routière chez les professionnels des PMA. Une initiative du Partenariat mondial pour la sécurité routière (GRSP), en collaboration avec la Banque asiatique de développement (BAD), le Programme international d'évaluation des routes (iRAP) et l'Observatoire de la sécurité routière de l'Asie et du Pacifique (APRSO).
  • 2022 – Prix internationaux des médias de la sécurité – Five awards presented to iRAP and associated partners: Gold for the Road Safety Toolkit, Silver for the AVO Star Rating for Design Project Digital Story, Silver for the iRAP 2021 Digital Annual Report, Bronze for iRAP’s International Women in Engineering Day Campaign and Honourable Mention for the Star Rating for Schools Lea Primary School, Nigeria video.
  • 2022 – Prix international Prince Michael pour la sécurité routière – Presented to iRAP and Agilysis for their ground-breaking research and development project, financé par le Fonds Mondial pour la Sécurité Routière de la Banque Mondiale (GRSF), pour exploiter des sources de données innovantes en matière de sécurité routière en Afrique, en soutien à l'Observatoire Africain de la Sécurité Routière (ARSO).
  • 2022 – Institute of Transportation Engineers – Australia and New Zealand (ITE-ANZ) ‘Contribution to the Transport Profession Award’ – Presented to Rob McInerney for his significant contribution to the transport and traffic engineering profession over a sustained period.
  • 2022 – Thai Prime Minister’s Road Safety Award for Excellence – Presented to ThaiRAP for its outstanding efforts and commitment to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on Thailand’s roads.
  • 2022 – Inaugural Alex Award – Presented to iRAP CEO Rob McInerney in celebration of one of Australia’s great road safety advocates, the late Senator Alex Gallacher, and awarded to Rob for his exemplary leadership for safer roads in Australia and worldwide.
  • 2021 – Prix international Prince Michael pour la sécurité routière – Présenté à la Road Safety Foundation, membre de l'EuroRAP, avec le soutien financier de la RAC Foundation et du Department for Transport pour le Safer Roads Fund destiné à prévenir environ 1 450 blessures graves et mortelles au cours des 20 prochaines années
  • 2021 et 2020 – International Road Federation (IRF) Global Achievement Award – Presented to Thai Department for Rural Roads for Integrated Road Safety Management System instrumental to ThaiRAP’s work

  • 2013 – FIA Region IV American Award – Presented to Julio Urzua, iRAP Regional Director – The Americas for creation and implementation of road safety initiatives in Latin America
  • 2010 – Prix international Prince Michael pour la sécurité routière – Presented to EuroRAP member Road Safety Foundation for producing the first map of deaths and serious injuries by parliamentary constituency, so that every MP is aware of the risks in their area.
  • 2010 – Prince Michael International Road Safety Award (Premiere Award) – Presented to EuroRAP member Road Safety Foundation for their significant role in establishing a respected, systematic method of assessing roads and helping the authorities make our roads safe.
  • 2009 – Prix international Prince Michael pour la sécurité routière – Presented to EuroRAP in recognition of the important role in bringing the programme’s activities and methodology to countries throughout Europe.
  • 2004 – Prix international Prince Michael pour la sécurité routière – Presented to EuroRAP in recognition of it’s role to provide a safety rating for roads across Europe.

  • 2020 – Presented to Sweden for the lifesaving safety impacts of its 2+1 with wire rope median road design
  • 2017 – Presented to Ashghal Qatar for the innovative work of the team at Ashghal, TRL and FPZ for their Star Rating for Designs software development

5-Star Performer Awards

  • 2025 – Presented to Main Roads Western Australia and Anditi, honouring their AiRAP global leadership and the pioneering use of LiDAR and artificial intelligence to improve road safety.
  • 2022 – Presented to DNIT for BrazilRAP programme achievements since 2019
  • 2017 – Presented to MIROS iRAP Malaysia for RAP programme achievements including launch of 2017 iRAP Malaysia: Star Rating Results of Malaysian Inter-Urban Expressways Report
  • 2013 – Presented to Karnataka State Highway Improvement Program (KSHIP) and World Bank for work to ensure that safety is built-in to designs for new roads and major upgrades, prior to construction. Karnataka was the first jurisdiction in the region to commit to setting minimum Star Ratings for new road designs.
