RAP Integrations – Made Safer by iRAP
RAP Integrations – Made Safer by iRAP
ViDA and its results data can be integrated within road authority systems and road safety tools utilizing its API. This enables data to be transferred from asset management tools and the Star Ratings accessed.
Examples of where iRAP’s methodology has been integrated (Made safer by iRAP) include:
MOTORISTA
DRIVER (Data for Road Incident Visualization, Evaluation, and Reporting) is a World Bank-developed, web-based system for recording and analyzing crash data. It can be integrated with ViDA to provide Star Rating data and create Crash Risk Maps.
Star Rating for Road Safety Audits (SR4RSA) manual
This manual, developed in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), helps practitioners apply the iRAP methodology alongside Road Safety Audits (RSA) to meet safety targets during a road project’s design phases.
ThaiRAP Lite Star Ratings
An internal tool developed by Thailand’s Rural Roads Department (DRR) that uses a simplified subset of iRAP attributes. It is used to quickly identify high-risk rural road sections for further analysis, primarily for vehicle occupants and motorcyclists
Austroads Stereotypes
Developed by iRAP Centre of Excellence NTRO (previously ARRB),these stereotypes provide iRAP Star Ratings for typical Australian road designs and speeds. They are used as a network screening tool to help identify high-priority sections for further investigation and upgrades.
LG Stars Tool
A safety rating tool developed for Western Australian Local Governments that reflects common local road types. It provides a cost-effective method to assess road safety and support local investment decisions
NetRisk2
A tool from iRAP Centre of Excellence NTRO (previously ARRB) that localizes the iRAP methodology for Australia. It combines iRAP Star Ratings with the Australian National Risk Assessment Model (ANRAM) to identify, prioritize, and treat high-risk roads
Patrulha da Pista
A software tool developed by FACTUAL that uses CycleRAP to provide data-driven insights for improving cycling infrastructure. It automates the process of capturing images, creating a digital twin, and simulating future scenarios to help city planners prioritize improvements.
Road Safety Toolkit
The Road Safety Toolkit provides free information on the causes and prevention of road crashes that result in death and injury. Building on decades of road safety research, the Toolkit has helped policy makers, planners, engineers and practitioners develop safety plans for car occupants, motorcyclists, pedestrians, bicyclists, heavy vehicle occupants and public transport users.
Key Performance Indicator
The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 calls on all countries to achieve at least a 50% reduction in road deaths and injuries by 2030 and adopt recommendations to achieve the Global Road Safety Performance Targets agreed by Member States.
The iRAP Global Infrastructure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for road safety provide the policy road map and recommended metrics for measuring success.
