Why is training so important?
Following the creation of the UN Targets 3 & 4, and the release of the WHO Global Status Report on Road Safety last year, it is critical that we rapidly build the skills of engineers, auditors and professionals able to undertake iRAP assessments. We have to scale up safer road infrastructure for all road users on an unprecedented level if we are going to help the world reduce the 1.35 million road traffic deaths worldwide every year.

iRAP Star Rating Essentials Online Video Series
To help meet growing demand for Star Rating assessments, iRAP created a specific training video series. The iRAP Star Rating Essentials is a series of five videos.
Each module is between 60 to 70 minutes and covers the following topics:
- Introduction to iRAP, global road safety and the ‘safe system’;
- How to plan and perform iRAP road surveys;
- How to plan and perform iRAP road attribute coding;
- How to use iRAP’s online software, ViDA, to produce Star Rating and Safer Roads Investment Plans (SRIP);
- How iRAP can be used to Star Rate designs;
- Practical survey, coding and Star Rating activities.
Door deze training te volgen, verwerven studenten kennis over infrastructuurrisico's en ontwikkelen ze de vaardigheden die nodig zijn om iRAP-beoordelingen uit te voeren.

iRAP Star Rating For Design Online Video Series
De SR4D Deze tool stelt ontwerpers en wegenbouwers in staat om de verkeersveiligheid van een ontwerp te beoordelen en de veiligheidssterrenclassificatie te verbeteren. voor de uitvoering van civiele werken. Het maakt de uitvoering van civiele werken mogelijk. Sterrenbeoordelingsmethodologie om te worden geïntegreerd in het wegontwerpproces.
Deze online tool speelt een cruciale rol in het werken aan de Wereldwijde verkeersveiligheidsdoelstellingen van de Verenigde Naties met name de vorig jaar vastgestelde VN-doelstelling 3 voor verkeersveiligheid in het kader van de Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoelen (SDG's): Tegen 2030, alle nieuw roads achieve technical standards for all road users that takes into account road safety, or meet a three star rating or better.
