iRAP invites you to join our session at the upcoming IRF Europe and Central Asia Regional Congress and Exhibition from 30 September to 2 October in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Hosted by the International Road Federation (IRF Global) under the theme “Connecting Europe and Central Asia: Resilient, Smart and Safe Roads Driving Sustainable Growth,” the congress will examine how connectivity, investment, resilience, road safety, digital transformation and institutional capability come together to shape safer and better-performing road networks.
Drawing together government leaders, road agencies, development partners, industry, researchers and practitioners, the conference will combine high-level strategic discussion on policy, leadership and institutional challenges, with technical sessions.
Case studies, applied research, engineering innovation and implementation lessons will be shared across topics including AI applications and road infrastructure, climate resilience, road safety, regional integration and cooperation, asset management, decarbonisation of road transport, and capacity building.

Creating safer roads begins with understanding where the greatest risks exist and using that knowledge to guide investment decisions. Across Europe and Central Asia, road agencies are increasingly using infrastructure and risk assessments to support evidence-based planning, helping to prioritise interventions that deliver the greatest safety benefits for road users.
Hosted by the IRF and iRAP, the session will explore how road assessment programmes are being applied across the region and how infrastructure and risk assessments can support planning and decision-making on both rural roads and urban networks. Through regional experience and practical case studies, delegates will gain insights into the benefits these approaches have delivered and how they are contributing to safer mobility and sustainable transport.
