As part of the Fundo AIP’s innovative Big Data road safety program, IA&Eu: Capacitando jovens para um trânsito mais seguro, AIP Foundation, iRAP and the Ministry of Transport (MOT) hosted the first hands-on training of the Youth Engagement APP (YEA) to key government stakeholders and teachers – in Ho Chi Minh City, Pleiku City, and Yen Bai, Vietnam. The main objective was to provide an introduction to the IA&Eu program as well as launch the YEA App with instructions on how to use it.
Raise your voice: A Youth Engagement App for safer mobility
O YEA oferece aos jovens uma maneira eficiente de identificar e relatar condições de trânsito de alto risco, fornecendo a eles uma plataforma para que suas vozes sejam ouvidas. Através do aplicativo, os funcionários do governo receberão dados como recomendações acionáveis para fazer intervenções eficazes e baseadas em evidências na segurança viária. Isso facilitará a identificação de "pontos negros" para análises mais aprofundadas para determinar as classificações por estrelas para zonas escolares.
The trainings were facilitated by MOT & iRAP’s leading technical experts in their field:

- Rafaela Machado, Star Ratings for Schools Global Coordinator, iRAP
- Mr. Le Van Thanh, Special list, Infrastructure Department, MOT
As a result of the training, the teachers will be better equipped to use the YEA app and play an active role in providing training to 1800 students from 18 pilot schools to use it. In turn, it is then these students that will raise their voices for streets for life. It brings us closer to our vision of a world where all neighbourhood streets are liveable, safe, and sustainable.
