Bewaar de datum: PHOEBE Eindconferentie

Mark your diaries and join us for the Final Conference of PHOEBE on 23 June in Naples to hear the project’s results in advancing the safety of vulnerable road users and safer, smarter and greener active mobility in three European cities.

The 3.5 year EU-funded ‘Voorspellende Benaderingen voor een Veiliger Stedelijke Omgeving’ (PHOEBE) Project, ,... in Athene (Griekenland), West Midlands (VK) en Valencia (Spanje), voortbouwend op de sterke punten van de verkeersveiligheidsevaluatietools van iRAP en de simulatie- en kunstmatige intelligentie van AIMSUN, om geharmoniseerde, geïntegreerde en toonaangevende veiligheidsvoorspellende tools te leveren die rekening houden met gender, leeftijd en vaardigheidsniveaus bij het voorzien in toekomstige mobiliteit.

Overview of the Final Conference

The Final Conference will be held from 1.30 – 4.30pm as part of the 10th International Road Safety & Simulation Conference (RSS2026) in Naples, Italy. Results will be shared through an interactive workshop format introducing the innovative PHOEBE framework which has been developed to support cities in forecasting and improving urban road safety through the integration of state-of-the-art safety assessment tools. Key findings from pilot implementations and simulation activities conducted in the pilot cities – Athens, Valencia, and the West Midlands – will be presented.

The presentations will also showcase the interactive tools developed within the PHOEBE project. These demonstrations will illustrate how the framework enhances micro-simulation capabilities to provide predictive insights into safety impacts for vulnerable road users, supports safety-oriented decision-making, and delivers evidence-based recommendations and tools that can be adopted by other European cities for strategic planning and policy-making.

What Results Will Be Shared?

A comprehensive overview of the project’s methodological pillars will be provided, with particular emphasis on:

  • Microsimulation tools
  • Road safety assessment
  • Road user behavioural modelling
  • Socio-economic analyses

These components are further enhanced through the use of driver telematics data and advanced machine learning applications, with a focus on their interconnections and integrated applications.
