In a landmark collaboration between Rijstrookpatrouille en de Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Slovenia (AMZS), supported by an FIA Safe and Sustainable Mobility Grant, a rigorous safety assessment of 75km of cycling networks has been completed across five key cities: Ljubljana, Novo Mesto, Kranj, Koper and Velenje.
Slovenia’s cycling culture is booming, from leisure trails to servicing the daily commute.
But as usage grows, so does the responsibility to protect every rider on the road. Relying on post-crash data is no longer enough.
By applying the CycleRAP methodology with Lane Patrol, local communities are provided with a proactive roadmap to:
- Identify high-risk locations before incidents occur
- Simulate infrastructure improvements to optimise safety in upgrades investment
- Build the “Virtuous Circle” of safe mobility that encourages more citizens to choose the bike

This is just the beginning of a continuous partnership with AMZS to bring Vision Zero closer to reality in Slovenia.
