On Wednesday 22 November 2023, approximately 40 delegates across 27 countries attended our sixth #RAPKnowledgeLive session highlighting the latest on CycleRAP.
Background: CycleRAP is een gemakkelijke, betaalbare en snelle methode om de infrastructuur voor fietsers en weggebruikers te evalueren op veiligheid. Het heeft tot doel ongevallen te verminderen en de veiligheid specifiek voor fietsers en andere gebruikers van lichte mobiliteit te verbeteren door locaties met een hoog risico te identificeren zonder dat er ongevalsgegevens nodig zijn.
On the 25 October, a new report ‘Cycling around the World’ was launched by iRAP, in partnership with MAPFRE Stichting, de Internationale Wielerunie (UCI) en PTV Groep. This report covers the first major pilot of the CycleRAP model, with cities in Europe, South America and North America participating.
In this session, iRAP’s Global Innovation Manager and Cities Specialist Monica Olyslagers presented on:
- A brief introduction of CycleRAP and its evolution since being launched in 2022.
- Discussion on the pilot project, including the ‘Cycling around the World’ report and associated case studies.
- Whats next for CycleRAP?
