Road safety professionals, researchers, policymakers and practitioners are invited to join the final webinar of the PHOEBE Project (Predictive Approaches for Safer Urban Environments) on 30 June 2026 from 10:00–11:30am CEST via Zoom.
The 3.5 year project, funded by the European Union and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to increase the road safety of vulnerable road users, especially those who use active mobility and e-scooters.
Drawing inspiration from real-world scenarios in the three pilot cities of Athens (Greece), Valencia (Spain) and West Midlands (UK), the project has developed an integrated, dynamic human-centred predictive safety assessment framework for all road user types in urban areas.
This has been achieved by bringing together traffic simulation, road safety assessment, data concerning human behaviour and mode shift, as well as demand modelling of new and emerging mobility data.
As the project’s final conference is embedded within the Road Safety and Simulation Conference in Napoli (RSS2026), the PHOEBE consortium has organised this dedicated online event to share key findings and provide participants with the opportunity to engage directly with project experts.
During the 90-minute webinar, attendees will learn about the outcomes of PHOEBE’s pilot activities, including advances in mode choice and behavioural modelling, the application of iRAP and AIMSUN models, practical applications of the research, and evidence-based policy recommendations to support safer urban mobility.
