Celebrating YOURS 2025 Annual Report

As a proud partner, iRAP congratulates Jeunesse pour la sécurité routière (YOURS) on the release of its 2025 Annual Report, celebrating another year of empowering young people to lead the global movement for safer and more sustainable mobility.

Since 2009, YOURS has built the world’s leading platform for youth driven road safety action, placing road safety firmly on the global youth agenda and elevating young voices into the highest levels of decision making.

We’re proud to have partnered with YOURS in delivering these showcased initiatives:

  • The Empowering Youth for Liveable Cities Initiative in Vietnam has seen 722 secondary school students consulted and 70 government authorities engaged across four cities to help create safer, more accessible urban environments for young people and vulnerable road users. Delivered by AIP Foundation in partnership with YOURS, iRAP, Fondation Botnar and the FIA Foundation, and in collaboration with local authorities across Yen Bai, Pleiku, Vinh Long and Rach Gia, the programme has strengthened youth well-being by equipping teachers to mentor a new generation of youth leaders through a cascade model. By combining digital tools, like Système de notation par étoiles pour les écoles (SR4S) et le Application d'engagement des jeunes with peer learning, young people are not only learning about road safety but also beginning to shape it in their own communities.
  • The 3rd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety was held in February in Marrakech as part of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, During the Assembly, iRAP delivered a Star Rating for Schools workshop for 30 youth leaders helping to equip them in the use of SR4S tool to measure infrastructure risk and advocate for safer schools journeys across the world.
  • The Multi-country Local Actions seed funding programme has supported 15 projects in 14 countries, reaching 47,250 people directly and 262,000 people indirectly and engaging 32 public entities. iRAP’s Digital Media Specialist Briarlea Green and Sustainable Mobility Coordinator Minh Vo have participated in the Youth-Led Local Actions Programme, mentoring Elizabete Nasibova from the Automobile Club of Azerbaijan (AMAK) in delivering her Claiming Safe School Streets Local Action.

Youth leadership plays an important role in shaping iRAP partnerships and initiatives globally. YOURS Executive Director Raquel Barrios serves on the iRAP Board, while Sana’a Ramez Khasawneh, Senior Advocacy and Public Affairs Manager is a member of iRAP’s Global Policy Advisory Committee (GPAC). Sana’a has assumed the GPAC role from Estiara Ellizar who recently stepped down as Youth Leadership Board (YLB) member at the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety (YOURS). In these positions, Raquel, Estiara and Sana’a are helping to ensure youth voices inform our charity’s strategic direction and global impact.

Looking ahead, the YOURS Annual Report outlines an ambitious vision for 2026 and beyond. As the Decade of Sustainable Transport begins and the world enters the final five years of the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety, YOURS will continue championing meaningful youth participation in transport decision-making, expanding partnerships, embracing innovation, and advancing priorities including safer school journeys, motorcycle safety, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based advocacy.

iRAP and SR4S look forward to continuing our collaboration with YOURS to ensure young people are not only heard, but empowered to help design safer roads, safer school journeys and safer mobility systems for everyone.

Training delivered as part of the Empowering Youth for Liveable Cities project with AIP Foundation and YOURS in March.
