Le Ambassade du cyclisme néerlandais recently interviewed Roxy Tacq, an expert in urban mobility and cycling safety, regarding the application and impact of CycleRAP.

During the interview, Roxy Tacq, who offers independent consultancy services in these areas, explained how by using CycleRAP, images of cycle paths around the world can be assessed by experts on a set of criteria to generate a safety score and report. This can then help governments and organizations understand the risks and identify cost-effective measures to prevent crashes and enhance cyclist safety.

The discussion also highlighted the adaptability of CycleRAP to modern urban challenges, such as the increasing volume and diversity of bicycle and micromobility traffic. Roxy shared her experiences in using CycleRAP for various projects, emphasizing its role in both assessing existing infrastructure and informing the design of new, safer cycling facilities.

The interview explored how CycleRAP’s evidence-based approach can be a powerful advocacy tool, enabling stakeholders to make a stronger case for investments in cycling safety. Roxy Tacq’s insights provide a comprehensive understanding of how this technology is shaping the future of cycle mobility on a global scale.
