The Safer Journeys Lead for Europe position is part of iRAP’s Partenariats pour un impact en 2030 La stratégie place les partenariats au cœur du programme et reconnaît les nombreux succès obtenus en matière d'élimination des routes à haut risque grâce à la collaboration entre les autorités routières, les banques de développement, les donateurs, les instituts, les ONG et le secteur privé.
The target of the 2021-2030 Decade of Action for Road Safety is a halving of road death and injury and across Europe countries are putting into place plans that align with the global target and ultimately aim to achieve vision zero by 2050.
The Safer Journeys Lead for Europe will support efforts to ensure that roads and designs are fundamentally safe and accessible for all modes, abilities, and journeys, which will be vitally important in achieving safety targets across the region.
Les principales responsabilités du poste comprennent :
- Mise en œuvre de iRAP Partenariats pour un impact en 2030 strategy in Europe and supporting the integration of the European program with the iRAP global program.
- Collaborating with, and supporting, partners to implement the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-30 and the road infrastructure safety management (RISM) directive in the context of more sustainable, active and inclusive transport as set out in the Sustainable Development Goals, COP Paris Agreement and EU Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission.
- Identifying opportunities to support policy development and the use of evidence-based infrastructure safety management initiatives such as Star Ratings for Designs (SR4D), Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) and tools developed by partners, technical knowledge, training and capacity building, accreditation, and advocacy by partners in the region.
- Encourager la contribution des organisations partenaires aux initiatives d'innovation et de développement telles que AiRAP et CycleRAP par le biais du cadre d'innovation et du Comité technique mondial de iRAP.
- Building on well-established global and regional networks, connecting partners with common needs and potential to create safer roads and safer journeys for all. This includes actively engaging with key counterparts in partner organisations such as the European Commission (EC), FIA, World Health Organisation (WHO), the World Road Association (PIARC), International Transport Forum (ITF), United Nationals Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Conference for European Directors of Roads (CEDR), Cities and Regions for Transport Innovation (POLIS), ETSC, FEVR, European Union Road Federation (ERF), Euro NCAP, Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), Global Alliance for NGOs, development banks (European Investment Bank (EIB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), World Bank), bi-lateral donors, initiatives such as Expert Group on Road Infrastructure Safety (EGRIS) and Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM), and national road agencies, NGOs and institutes.
- Représenter iRAP à un niveau élevé lors de réunions et d'événements nationaux et internationaux.
- Collaborer et soutenir le principal donateur de iRAP, FIA Foundation, dans le cadre de son programme Design for Life 2030, axé sur la sécurité des rues, la qualité de l'air et l'action climatique.
The Safer Journeys Lead for Europe will report to the iRAP Global Programme Director and work closely with iRAP team members and partners.
