You’re invited: Event to share SABRINA project results of Safer Bicycle Routes in European Danube Area

You’re invited to join us in Brussels on 5 December to hear the results of the Safer Bicycle Routes in Danube Area (SABRINA) project focused on improving the quality and safety of cycling infrastructure for people who cycle.

The SABRINA Project is tackling cycling infrastructure safety issues on existing, planned and missing cycling corridors across the Danube region. It covers routes across 9 countries including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, with 11 Project Partners and 4 Associated Strategic Partners. The project runs in the framework of Danube Transnational Programme (Interreg) and is co-funded by European Union Funds (ERDF, ENI).

The event will be moderated by Raluca Fiser, Green Revolution Association and will feature keynote presentations from the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), a SABRINA partner, as well as the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF).

The event will take place in two parts:

  • The first session will explore applying the key results of SABRINA on EU transport and mobility policy focused on cycling, with discussions on its application for TEN-T and active mobility in Europe.
  • The second session will specifically focus on the main project results and tools created by SABRINA.

The event will be delivered in-person only and welcomes the participation and attendance of stakeholders from the EU institutions, member state representations, civil society, research and academia.

1000 – 1100 Panel discussion: Growing cycling in Europe by 2030 – more funding for cycling infrastructure, EU-level quality requirements and integrating cycling into TEN-T.

1300 – 1400 Light lunch served to attendees
