O Ten Step Plan for Safer Road Infrastructure in Tanzania and experiences of road assessment programmes around the world will be showcased at the 2nd Smart Transport Infrastructures Summit (STIS2021) in Dar Es Salaam from 27-29 April.
Under the theme “Adopting Emerging Technologies for Smart Transportation Infrastructures”, smart innovations, technologies and research on different transportation modes including air, road, rail and water ways will be presented.
A Special Session on the Ten Step Plan for Safer Road Transport Infrastructure will include:

The Tanzania Minister for Works and Transport, H.E. Eng. Dr Leonard Madaraka Chamuriho officially launched the “Ten Step Plan for Safer Road Infrastructure” Project in an on-line National workshop on March 16. Tanzania is the first country in the world to use the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC) Ten Steps approach. The Ten Step Project, jointly funded by the Fundo das Nações Unidas para a Segurança Rodoviária (UNRSF) e o Mecanismo Global de Segurança Rodoviária do Banco Mundial (GRSF), reúne o Governo da Tanzânia através do M Ministry of Works, TANROADS, the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), a Comissão Econômica das Nações Unidas para a África (UNECA), Banco Mundial, International Road Federation (IRF), World Road Association (PIARC), Programa Internacional de Avaliação de Rodovias (iRAP), Federação Rodoviária da Tanzânia (TARA), instituições de pesquisa, ONGs e partes interessadas do setor.
The STIS2021 Summit programme will cover the themes of:

STIS2021 is being organised by B&F Global (Tanzania) in collaboration with the Ministry of Works Transport & Communications (United Republic of Tanzania), the National Institute of Transport (NIT-Tanzania), the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT International), MDS Consulting Group (Malaysia) with technical support by PIARC-World Road Association, the International Road Federation (IRF) and the Intelligent Transport Systems & Infrastructures Forum (ITSIF).
