Coffee and Connect brings RAP Leads together to save lives

57 Road Assessment Programme Leads from 34 countries joined iRAP’s first Coffee and Connect session today to share experiences and resources, and foster partnerships and friendships for success.

Attendees heard from world-leading RAPs BrazilRAP, IndiaRAP and EuroRAP on their activities and successes, challenges and next steps.

BrazilRAP Lead Luiz Guilherme de Mello, Director of the National Department of Transport and Infrastructure Brazil (DNIT) shared news on the largest iRAP assessment ever conducted in Latin America, currently underway on 63,000kms using iRAP accredited suppliers and systems.

Lina Konstantinopoulou, Secretary General of EuroRAP congratulated local partners across the region with 20 national programmes hard at work to eliminate high-risk roads across Europe.

IndiaRAP Technical Manager Jigesh Bhavsar shared the Bloomberg and World Bank partnerships, as well as important government, AITD and local partner relationships that have supported the achievement of 21,000kms of road assessments and upgrades completed or underway on 3,000kms.

Speakers from iRAP also shared the global tools, innovations, resources, training and support the charity provides to support local RAPs leverage the greatest possible life-saving outcomes.
