Fewer serious crashes has meant fewer towing operations, reduced operating costs, and less traffic congestion. Safety also generates operational and financial benefits.<\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent example of what investing in road safety means in practice. More remains to be done, particularly to improve the safety of powered two-wheelers, but the progress made on the A1 demonstrates what can be achieved when data, financing, and implementation come together.<\/p>\n<p>As Senegal hosts the <a href=\"https:\/\/sn.linkedin.com\/company\/dakar-2026-comit%C3%A9-d-organisation-des-jeux-olympiques-de-la-jeunesse-dakar-2026?trk=public_post-text\">#Dakar2026 Youth Olympic Games<\/a> this year, these improvements are timely.<\/p>\n<p>And the momentum is building. With support from the UNRSF \u2013 UN Road Safety Fund and The Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), partners such as the National Road Safety Agency (ANASER Senegal), the Senegalese Road Works and Management Agency (Ageroute Senegal), the International Road Federation (IRF), and PIARC &#8211; World Road Association and iRAP are strengthening local capacity through the Ten Step Plan for Safer Roads in Senegal, helping to make the design and implementation of life-saving roads the norm, not the exception.<\/p>\n<p>Safer roads are not an expense, but an investment in people, productivity, and national development.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/autoroutedelavenir_des-progr%C3%A8s-concrets-sur-lautoroute-de-lavenir-activity-7428064571652935680-9W0p\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop&amp;rcm=ACoAAADdnlwBc2eb0dfqcFt62i5L-H8vrls0WX0\">Read original post from\u00a0Autoroute de l&#8217;Avenir in French here\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 24% decrease in deaths and injuries in just three years.
