{"id":37103,"date":"2020-02-24T23:54:46","date_gmt":"2020-02-24T23:54:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irap.org\/?p=37103"},"modified":"2020-03-17T13:36:52","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T13:36:52","slug":"event-wrap-up-innovation-workshop-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irap.org\/vi\/2020\/02\/event-wrap-up-innovation-workshop-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"S\u1ef0 KI\u1ec6N WRAP UP: H\u1ed9i th\u1ea3o \u0110\u1ed5i m\u1edbi 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.22&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.0.9&#8243; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.25&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.0.9&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3>Summary<\/h3>\n<p>The 2020 Innovation Workshop was held on 17 &#8211; 18 February 2020, as an official pre-event of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsafetysweden.com\/\">3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety.<\/a> It was co-hosted by iRAP, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itf-oecd.org\/\">International Transport Forum<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/global-road-safety-facility\">World Bank Global Road Safety Facility<\/a>, with the support of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukaiddirect.org\/\">UK Aid<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiafoundation.org\/\">FIA Foundation<\/a>. The Workshop brought together 140 road safety advocates, experts and stakeholders from 32 countries around the world.<\/p>\n<p>With the theme \u201cAchieving the UN Road Safety Targets by 2030\u201d, presentations explored how innovation in planning, design, financing, upgrading roads and sharing success can help to provide the global structure needed to deliver the UN Global Road Safety Targets 3 and 4, harness the power of big data to save lives, create safer cities and journeys for vulnerable road users, and secure investment for impact on scale.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">Global Road Safety Performance Targets<\/a> agreed by UN Member States outline priority actions in support of those UN Sustainable Development Goals that will benefit from improved road safety. <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2018\/04\/targets-3-4-what-they-mean-for-safer-roads-globally\/\">Targets 3 and 4<\/a> include ensuring all new roads are built to a 3-star or better standard for all road users (Target 3), and more than 75% of travel is on the equivalent of 3-star or better roads for all road users by 2030 (Target 4).<\/p>\n<p>How to upgrade the world\u2019s road infrastructure over the coming decade to ensure safe travel for all by 2030 was the core theme of the Workshop.<\/p>\n<h3>Event Communique<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2020\/02\/innovation-workshop-2020-event-summary-and-recommendations-for-the-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2020\/02\/innovation-workshop-2020-event-summary-and-recommendations-for-the-future\/\">15 key recommendations<\/a> arising out of the Workshop were presented
