They have asked them about their opinion on different topics connected to more cycling, safer cycling infrastructure, promotion of cycling, etc. Six interesting interviews are collected in the joint newsletter of both projects which is available\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/resources.eira-si.eu\/SABRINA_project\/20211215_Joint_newsletter_SAB_DCP.pdf\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>. You can read the individual interviews also by clicking on the names below.<\/p>\n<p>They have talked with:<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/7002\">Jill Warren<\/a><\/strong>, CEO of European Cyclists\u2019 Federation, avid everyday and recreational cyclist who loves to explore the world on cycling holidays.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/7051\">Matthew Baldwin<\/a><\/strong>, a deputy Director-General in European Commission\u2019s Mobility and Transport Directorate-General. He recently cycled from Brussels to Lisbon and associates a bicycle with happiness and freedom.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/7089\"><strong>Maria Jos\u00e9 Rojo<\/strong><\/a>, a Project Manager \u2013 Coordinator for Active Travel and Health at POLIS. For her, a bicycle grasps perfectly the \u2018essence\u2019 of mobility as the most efficient mode of transport; and it is an essential tool in the transition towards climate-resilient cities.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/7021\">Thiago Herick de Sa<\/a><\/strong>, a Technical Officer in the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization, Headquarters. He thinks of his bicycle as of a good old friend which takes him everywhere.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/6983\">Monika Sattler<\/a><\/strong>, diversity consultant, cycling record holder, TEDx speaker, author and women in cycling ambassador. She has chosen cycling to motivate people to follow their dreams.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.interreg-danube.eu\/news-and-events\/programme-news-and-events\/7079\"><strong>Gregor Stekla\u010di\u010d<\/strong><\/a>, an Undersecretary in the Sustainable Mobility and Transport Policy Directorate at the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure. He is a national cycling coordinator, an avid everyday and recreational cyclist who did more kilometers with his bike than his car in the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the reading!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>A few words about both projects:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\u2022\u00a0<strong>SABRINA project<\/strong>, led by the European Institute of Road Assessment (EuroRAP\u2019s subsidy) focuses on road infrastructure safety for cyclists as one of the most vulnerable road users. It tackles cycling infrastructure safety issues on existing, planned, and missing cycling corridors crossing nine countries in the Danube region. The main goal is to help decision-makers plan, design, and implement safe and sustainable solutions for improved cycling infrastructure in the region. Another EuroRAP member which is also a SABRINA project partner is the Automobile Club of Moldova. Project activities include the development of National Cycling Plans based on a common transnational Danube Cycling Strategy, defining a Danube cycle route network, infrastructure standards and adequate financial support and increasing the awareness of relevant stakeholders for the needs of cyclists.
