Five-star roads are the safest while one-star roads are the least safe.<\/p>\n<p>Results will inform road infrastructure investment in the country towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transport\/road_safety\/sites\/roadsafety\/files\/move-2019-01178-01-00-en-tra-00_3.pdf\">EU Road Safety Policy Framework 2021-2030<\/a> for a 50 per cent reduction target for deaths and serious injuries by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Andorra is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euro.who.int\/en\/about-us\/networks\/small-countries-initiative\">WHO Small Countries Initiative<\/a> so that countries in the WHO European Region with a population of less than 1 million people can share their knowledge on implementing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euro.who.int\/en\/publications\/abstracts\/health-2020-a-european-policy-framework-supporting-action-across-government-and-society-for-health-and-well-being\">Health 2020<\/a>. Health 2020 is a European policy framework supporting action across government and society for enhancing health and well-being.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transport\/media\/news\/2020-06-11-road-safety-statistics-2019_en\">European Commission<\/a>, it is estimated that, for every life lost, five more people suffer serious injuries with life-changing consequences (around 120 000 people in 2019).
