The global need to benchmark the safety of road networks in accordance with the UN road safety performance targets is also an important demand for the innovation.<\/p>\n<p>A light model should therefore meet the needs associated with global benchmarking, speed management (eg KiwiRAP), local government and early concept-stage design reviews.<\/p>\n<p>The World Bank has also recently identified a need for early-stage assessment of loan projects with the light or interim star rating identified as a potential metric for inclusion in those assessments.<br
