Safety is an indispensable value that guides our every choice and investment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aleatica, of which A35 Brebemi is part, has obtained this <a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2024\/11\/aleatica-signs-saferroadspledge-and-achieves-irap-certification-for-8-of-its-concessions-in-europe-and-latin-america\/\">certification for 8 concessions in 4 countries (Italy, Mexico, Chile and Spain)<\/a>, consolidating its pioneering role in promoting safe and sustainable infrastructure in Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>David Diaz, Global CEO of Aleatica, commented, \u201cSafety on our roads is our top priority as we strive to contribute to the reduction of fatalities and serious injuries, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Today we can proudly say that 8 of our concessions are certified with three stars or more, with A25 Brebemi as a 4-star flagship, making us the first company in the industry to achieve this certification for multiple assets in several countries. This motivates us to continue working to ensure that at least 75 percent of Aleatica&#8217;s infrastructure achieves three stars or higher by 2030.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/2024\/05\/700000-lives-deaths-and-serious-injuries-saved-john-hopkins-report\/\">An independent study by Johns Hopkins University<\/a> highlighted the positive impact of safer road upgrades informed by the iRAP methodology, with about 700,000 lives saved and serious injuries prevented by iRAP partners&#8217; projects from 2016 to 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Rob McInerney, CEO of iRAP, said, \u201cTragically, more than 3,200 people lose their lives on the roads every day. Road crashes are the leading cause of death among young people. We know that road infrastructure rated 3 stars or higher saves lives and prevents injuries, but unfortunately less than half of the roads rated globally meet this standard.
